Aviation History

While in Maine looking for fall color Moose and I stopped by the Wiscasset airport to see the warbirds of the Texas Flying Legends Museum.  What a treat to be able to see these WWII aircraft up close and talk with the crews who fly and maintain these great historical aircraft.

This is the flight deck of Betty’s Dream, a B-25J.  I was immediately drawn to all the detail in the cockpit and wanted a picture.  I knew photographically that the exposure range was far greater than my camera could capture in a single click so standing on the entry ladder I shot 9 images, bracketing the initial exposure in +/- 1.0 stop increments.  That gave me sufficient information to assemble the above image.

Image captured with a Nikon D4, Nikkor 16f2.8, finished with NIK HDR Pro 2 in Photoshop CS6
