Just back from a trip to Washington DC where I had some time to visit National Mall and view some of America’s history.
The Lincoln Memorial has always been one of my favorites and I’m humbled standing in the chamber area looking at this 19ft high statue of our 16th President.
The image above is right out of the camera with just a little a quick pass through Nik’s Tonal Contrast filter in Color Efex 4.0. I did shoot a series of exposures but I thought the darker ones added a touch more drama to the image. This particular image was taken at ISO 100, f8, 2.5 second exposure with -3.0 exposure compensation dialed in.
As I was getting ready to post this the very dark shadows to the very white highlights made me wonder what this would look like in B&W so I ran Nik’s Silver Efex Pro 2 filter on the above image to produce the image below.
