One of my New Year’s resolutions is to always have my camera with me. I’ve stepped that up a little this year as I normally have my iPhone with me, that has a camera, but it’s not the same. So I’m going to make the extra effort to haul the DSLR around as I go about my day.
I was on the ramp this morning for an early flight and I was blessed with some clouds in the sky which I knew would work for a B&W. I could see with the sun just above the horizon that the exposure range was wider than a single click image so I set the camera for a 5 shot bracket with a one stop increment. I had time to get off a couple of series before my student finished the pre-flight then it was time to jump in and buckle up.
The finishing of the image was quick. I uploaded the five images into Photoshop CS5 and used Nik’s HDR Efex Pro filter.
