There are many wonders to be seen around Moab Utah.  Just a short drive outside of town there are hieroglyphics on the rocks that can be seen just off roadway.

The basic problem that many photographers have with this is deciding on what f-stop to shoot a scene at.  For some reason we want to make this much more difficult than it needs to be.  These writings are on a planer wall, with that in mind, how much depth of field is needed?

Thinking this through, since this is all on the same image plane, the depth of field is shallow so this can be shot wide open and still retain an expectable depth of field.
