The countdown has begun for the start of Air Venture 2011. Better known just as ‘Oshkosh’ to the thousands of pilots and aviation enthusiasts who will head to Wittman Regional airport in Oshkosh Wisconsin to take in the sights, sounds and experiences of the 7 day aviation celebration.
I’ve pulled the tent off the shelf and begun pulling my gear together for the trip. Packing for a trip like this is always challenging because weight and balance for a small aircraft never seems to be easy – do I take more stuff and less gas or more gas and less stuff. I’ve come to the realization that camera gear is just too heavy and that I’ll be deciding what stays or goes up to the moment I climb in the plane and start the engine.
I’m looking forward to a great time at Oshkosh and hanging out with some close friends.
