The DLWS gang was up and going early this morning to catch a sunrise on the beach. The weather was changing quickly and the waves at times were specatular.
It’s a tough way to start the day ….. walking the beach and taking in all the sights.

It was a full day out in the field today even though the weather was gloomy and rainy most of the day. Tomorrow the fun begins as DLWS Kauai begins.

The DLWS staff didn’t get much scouting in yesterday as Moose and Sharon generously treated us to a play day on the island of Kauai.
As we learned some of the islands history, we took a float trip through a series of of ditches, tunnels and flumes on land that was once a sugar plantation. The amazing part was that these ditches and tunnels were all hand dug by Chinese laborers back in the 1800’s...
